Located in the heart of Montpellier, this apartment is housed in a classic, historic building where original features set the rhythm of the space. High ceilings, exposed stone walls, ceiling moldings, and antique doors define an architecture steeped in history, serving as the starting point for a project that embraces a way of living where design, materials, and atmosphere intertwine seamlessly.

  • Conceived as a home with a strong aesthetic sensibility, the project proposes a balanced coexistence between classic and contemporary elements. The kitchen, designed with LACQUER Negro fronts, introduces a modern and precise touch within this historical framework. Its elegant and understated presence articulates the open-plan living area, adding visual depth and a ambiance that directly complements the original features of the house.

Far from darkening the space, black emphasizes the volumes and enhances the natural light entering through the windows, creating a contrast with the existing tones and textures. Against this contemporary palette, the original stone on one of the kitchen walls introduces texture and warmth, anchoring the design in the authenticity of the place.

This duality, between the classic and the contemporary, the sober and the expressive, defines the character of the project.
