After 11 years of working between New York and Puerto Rico, the new owner of this colourful space decided to return to Madrid and transform two flats that were rented out for tourism into a single 70m2 home. This new space, not only had to be their home, but also their office, and a place to host friends and family.

The needs of this refurbishment were clear: spaciousness and functionality in the flat, creating spaces that promote productivity and enjoyment, and at the same time a colourful backdrop for work video calls. The solution was to unify the two flats and remove the partitions, creating an open space with a festive feel thanks to the palette of colours and textures chosen.

The kitchen, with birch plywood and ROUND handles, stands out for its warmth and contemporary style. The colour of the wood contrasts perfectly with the orange-tiled structure and the bright red ceiling.

The new layout was designed with three key pieces: a birch wood box that integrates the kitchen and bookcase, covering the sofa area; a tiled structure of salmon tiles that houses the dining room and the entrance; and a technical totem in the shape of a double T and yellow ceramic tiles that organises the main room and distributes around its faces the bedroom, dressing room, washbasin and shower.

The result is a vibrant, functional and welcoming space.
