Kitchens, Bathrooms and Closets - LACQUER Marga, Roto, LAMINATE Metal, WOOD Oak

Combinations that shape a life

Just minutes from Barcelona, in a 1990s building, a family finally found the time to make the renovation they'd been imagining for years a reality. For more than five years, they lived in this 99 m² apartment with the clear idea that it wasn't its final form. The light was good, the space had potential, and, above all, it had something difficult to find in the city: a rear terrace of more than 100 square meters.

The renovation process coincided with another, even more important change: the expectation of their first child. Three days after the project was completed, the little girl was born. Thus, the house had a double start.

Everything that was previously compartmentalized was opened up to gain continuity without losing structure. Special attention was paid to the connection between the kitchen, dining room, and terrace, so that everyday life could flow naturally between the spaces. The chosen materials reflect this same idea. Microcement unifies the floors and walls with a soft texture, while natural wood, featured in the WOOD Oak fronts and cabinets, provides warmth without overwhelming the space.

The kitchen, designed with an ingenious combination of finishes—Marga and Roto LACQUER and Metal LAMINATE—achieves a visual balance that borders on the eclectic without losing coherence. The space is designed for cooking by several people, with a generous layout and ample storage capacity that facilitates everyday life. As for the materials, they were chosen for their elegant simplicity and connection with nature: WOOD provides warmth and a sense of groundedness, while LACQUER, with its soft texture and visual continuity, envelops the whole in a serene and contemporary atmosphere. Against this neutral background, bursts of color, terracotta and metallic tones, inject vitality and an air that dialogues with the golden light that floods the room.

Two different combinations were used in the bathrooms: Roto LACQUER with Oak WOOD in one, and Marga LACQUER in the other. The decision responds to both aesthetic and functional criteria: each one meets a different need, and its design allows the family's routine to flow without interruption.

This isn't an apartment that goes unnoticed. The entire design, from the finishes to the layout, reflects a clear and bold vision. Every choice, from the handcrafted tiles to the color contrasts, contributes to a kitchen that not only functions, but also has presence. Far from seeking a neutral aesthetic, here the design takes center stage and becomes an active part of the everyday experience. A space where every corner has something to say.
