Kitchens - Crema LACQUER
Balance and character in the heart of Montmartre
In the heart of Montmartre, in Paris's 18th arrondissement, this 85 m² Haussmann-style apartment has been completely renovated to become the primary residence for a family with two children. Its previous layout, highly compartmentalized and with an old-fashioned aesthetic marked by floral wallpapers, called for a profound transformation that would enhance the original architecture while simultaneously responding to the needs of contemporary living.
The new project focused on opening up the rooms and allowing natural light to flow freely. The entrance, painted in a matte midnight blue that creates an intimate and enveloping atmosphere, leads into the large living space. This intentional contrast between the dark entrance and the bright living room reinforces the sense of transition and spaciousness upon crossing the threshold.
The kitchen, open to the living room, is finished in Crema LACQUER, a soft and discreet finish that blends naturally with the rest of the space. Its neutral tone allows the focus to fall on other, more expressive elements, such as the yellow tile backsplash, which adds an eclectic and vibrant note. In the living room, the original fireplace has been preserved as a focal point, flanked by two built-in benches covered in white tiles that reflect the light and enhance the serenity of the space.
The result is an apartment that exudes light and balance. The materials respond to a clear desire: to create a warm, functional, and calming home amidst the hustle and bustle of Paris.
