In the heart of Montmartre, in Paris's 18th arrondissement, this 85-square-meter Haussmannian-style apartment has been completely renovated to become the main residence for a family with two children. Its previous layout, highly compartmentalized and with an outdated aesthetic marked by floral wallpapers, called for a thorough transformation that would highlight the original architecture while also meeting the needs of contemporary living.

  • The new project focused on opening up the rooms and allowing natural light to flow freely. From the entrance, finished in a matte midnight blue that creates an intimate and enveloping atmosphere, one enters the large living space. This intentional contrast between the dark entrance and the bright living room reinforces the feeling of transition and spaciousness upon crossing the threshold.

The kitchen, open to the living room, features a Crema LACQUER finish, a soft and understated color that blends seamlessly into the rest of the space. Its neutral tone allows the focus to remain on other elements with greater expressive weight, such as the yellow tiled credenza, which adds an eclectic and vibrant touch. In the living room, the original fireplace has been preserved as a focal point, flanked by two built-in benches covered in white tiles that reflect the light and enhance the overall serenity.

The result is an apartment that exudes light and balance. The materials chosen reflect a clear desire: to create a warm, functional, and tranquil home amidst the Parisian bustle.
