Kitchens - WOOD Oak

From post office to family home

The renovation of a former post office in the 18th arrondissement of Paris has given life to a unique family home. Challenged to create a space that combined comfort and brightness without losing the charm of a "Parisian country house," the new owners, a family with three children, sought to transform this 110m2 space into a welcoming and functional retreat.

The heart of the house, the ground floor, was transformed with a cream-toned polished concrete floor, complementing the original red brick ceilings. This choice not only added softness and serenity to the space but also preserved its historic character. Opening the façade onto a Parisian courtyard through a double French window illuminates the living room with natural light.

The kitchen, now located at the back of the room and open to the dining and living rooms, was designed with oak wood base units, creating a spacious and welcoming workspace. A cleverly concealed storage area under the staircase with a boxwood curtain maintains the clean and tidy aesthetic.

On the upper floors, the layout has been carefully thought out: the first for the parents and the second, under the roof, dedicated to the children's bedrooms, each with its own personality and skylights for greater light.

The renovation has achieved a perfect balance between functionality and respect for the history and style of the home. The owners now enjoy a home that reflects a sense of serenity and warmth.
