A couple of architects decided to embark on their first design adventure and remodel their own 90m2 apartment in Valencia, experimenting with different materials, textures, and colors.
They wanted to take advantage of the natural light, renovate the wooden floors, and reconfigure the layout to better optimize the space.
To achieve this renovation, the kitchen was located where light entered directly from the exterior windows. The original classic-style wooden floor was replaced with a 27x13 ceramic tile, which revives Valencian artisanal art and becomes the centerpiece of the space. Furthermore, the search for spaciousness led them to demolish some compartments, creating an open and fluid environment that fits the family's lifestyle.
The finishes, although simple, were meticulously selected. WOOD birch was chosen, a light tone that enhances luminosity and contrasts perfectly with the terracotta ceramics, radiating warmth, harmony, and continuity throughout the room.
The kitchen layout is a blend of functionality and design. Its niche structure is complemented by an island that, in addition to offering a hob with an integrated extractor fan, provides generous space for culinary preparation and storage. This design, open to the dining room and living room, also allows for panoramic views of the city from the terrace.
Now, the family enjoys a place that reflects their Mediterranean essence and provides all the comforts they need to enjoy time at home.
