This project took on the challenge of transforming a home that had undergone multiple renovations, with the goal of recovering and enhancing the original elements that still remained. A distinctive element of this residence is a turret, initially a sculptor's studio, which featured an impressive central skylight. Over time and with successive modifications to adapt the house to a family with three children, the turret had been practically occupied, leaving the entire area with the only source of light coming from the building's courtyard and wasting the zenithal light from that turret, which barely reached the entrance level.

The intervention focused on recovering the turret, eliminating the added divisions to create an open, double-height space that revitalizes the home with zenithal light. This renovated space now houses the kitchen, which has become the hub of family life, with a layout that allows light to flow freely through the common areas.

The interior design was simplified to two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a focus on maximizing functionality and spatial connection. The living room, kitchen, and dining room are distributed in an open plan, without doors or barriers, promoting seamless interaction between spaces. The upper level of the turret was transformed into an open studio, hovering over the kitchen and allowing light to flood the surroundings, creating a luminous and expansive effect.

In terms of materials and finishes, the floors were refinished, the fixtures were updated, and the bathrooms were modernized. The kitchen, finished in Fes and Sable laminate, went from being a marginal space to becoming a central environment, full of light and vitality.

This renovation has not only returned the building to its original character, but has also created a home designed to capture the essence of its artistic history and the functionality of modern life.
