Practical and warm design for relaxing and reconnecting on vacation
During their getaway to Spain, Erik and Marieke, a Dutch couple, found this 95 m² apartment the ideal place to unwind and enjoy their vacation. However, the original home, with its marble floors and closed layout, required a transformation to become a warm and functional space.
The project began with a key decision: to keep the existing flooring and use it as a base for selecting colors and materials that would add personality and balance to the whole. To unify the different areas, the walls, doors, and frames were painted in the same tone, reducing the visual fragmentation that characterized the space. A key intervention was to remove the wall that separated the kitchen from the living and dining room, achieving an open layout that connects the common areas.
In the kitchen, the Curry LACA finishes provide a warm touch that harmonizes perfectly with the rest of the home. Designed in an L-shape, the kitchen incorporates paneled appliances that integrate fully with the design, optimizing every inch without sacrificing style. The opening to the living and dining rooms enhances natural light and reinforces the visual connection between the spaces.
The result is a home that reflects the essence they were seeking. A serene space where the warmth of the materials and the fluidity of the spaces transform every corner into a place to fully enjoy.
