Kitchens - WOOD Oak
Revitalizing a 1970s flat
In Barcelona, a small 77m2 apartment, typical of the 1970s, was transformed into a modern and functional space. Originally divided into small rooms, the renovation was intended for a single person looking for a personalized and cozy home.
The main challenge was to convert a small and compartmentalized space, consisting of three small bedrooms, a small kitchen, a living room, and a dark bathroom, into an open and bright space.
To achieve this, the partitions were demolished, leaving only a central pillar that now harmoniously organizes the space. This design gave way to a multifunctional room that integrates the dining room, kitchen, living room, and study, making the most of the natural light.
The sleeping area includes a large dressing room that connects the bedroom to a bathroom with a large window that allows showering while looking at the sky.
In the kitchen, oak wood finishes were chosen to provide warmth and naturalness. The L-shaped layout maximizes space and functionality, complemented by a central island that serves both as a food preparation area and a secondary dining area. The use of anthracite gray microcement against the room's parquet flooring creates a smooth visual flow and a sense of spaciousness.
The result is an apartment that balances modern with vintage touches, such as the olive-green velvet sofa and 1970s bookcase. This renovation has created a simple yet striking space that reflects the owner's personality and needs.
