After 11 years of working between New York and Puerto Rico, the new owner of this colorful space decided to return to Madrid and transform two apartments that were vacation rentals into a single 70m2 home. This new space was not only supposed to be her home, but also her office, and a place to host friends and family.
The needs of this renovation were clear: spaciousness and functionality in the apartment, creating spaces that would promote productivity and enjoyment, while also providing a colorful backdrop for work video calls. The solution was to unify the two apartments and remove the partition walls, creating an open space with a festive feel thanks to the chosen color and texture palette.
The kitchen, with birch plywood and ROUND handles, stands out for its warmth and contemporary style. The wood color contrasts perfectly with the orange tiled structure and the bright red ceiling.
The new layout was designed with three key pieces: a birch wood box that integrates the kitchen and bookcase, covering the sofa area; a salmon-colored tiled structure that houses the dining room and entrance; and a technified totem pole in the shape of a double T and yellow ceramic tiles that organizes the main room, with the bedroom, dressing room, sink, and shower distributed around its faces.
The result is a vibrant, functional, and welcoming space.
