An old detached house in Málaga, built over 100 years ago, has been lovingly renovated by a family. This house, which had stood empty for three decades, once belonged to a single person named Rosario. The current family longed for a peaceful life, enjoying the outdoor spaces and the plants that surround it. Their aim was to preserve the essence of the house, maintaining as many of the original materials as possible and creating a layout that would allow them to enjoy their home more fully.

  • The renovation has preserved the original hydraulic tile floors and wooden windows, elements that lend character and charm to the home. The kitchen, the heart of the house, has remained in its original location, open to the dining room and the interior courtyard. This allows for a seamless integration between the spaces and fosters a connection with the natural surroundings of the property.

The kitchen layout features two parallel lines, primarily using base cabinets and omitting wall units. This design choice lends simplicity and a sense of spaciousness, creating a welcoming and functional environment. The chosen kitchen cabinetry boasts a laminate finish in Agave, an unconventional pastel green that complements the lush greenery of the patio plants. Combined with round handles, the result is a fresh and luminous aesthetic. The Sable laminate countertop is resistant to daily wear and tear and is fingerprint-resistant, ensuring its durability and ease of maintenance.

The first floor houses the social areas: kitchen, dining room, and living room, all opening onto the patios. The bedrooms are located on the second and third floors, creating a clear separation between the common and private areas.

The family is delighted with the renovation of their home. They have managed to preserve the essence and history of the house while creating welcoming and functional spaces for family enjoyment. The careful selection of materials and the intelligent layout allow them to live a peaceful life connected to nature, making the most of the patios and plants they love so much. This renovation was carried out with great care and attention, reflecting the personality and wishes of its owners, and transforming this old house into a modern and inviting home.
