Kitchens - WOOD
The kitchen as the new epicenter of the house
In Madrid, a couple fell in love with a house for its original materials and stunning views of the city center. However, the kitchen, located at the entrance and overlooking an interior courtyard, needed a transformation to make better use of the space and natural light.
To achieve the owners' vision, the original kitchen was divided to create a second bathroom and a bedroom. The new kitchen was moved to the main area of the house, taking advantage of the exterior views and becoming the heart of the home.
Furthermore, it was decided to open up the main space, integrating the kitchen with the dining room and living room. This involved knocking down a partition, revealing and highlighting an iron pillar, which was restored and painted white.
The kitchen, redesigned in an L-shape and with wooden cabinets, prioritizes storage and functionality. The opening of the kitchen to the living room and dining room allows for a unified space. The wood finishes contrast with the preserved hydraulic tiles, providing warmth and respecting the original essence of the house.
