The Alicante-based architecture studio A B E Z was revitalized in 2020 after a period of introspection and reflection. Their "return home" inspired a profound revaluation of the Levantine architectural essence, showing that cultural heritage can merge seamlessly with contemporary design.
With a rich history in real estate construction, the Levantine region has always been a benchmark for unique elements and materials. For this project, the priority was to create a versatile and fluid workspace, where characteristic elements such as pavé, white monolayer, and marble could be reinterpreted to create a more welcoming and authentic atmosphere.
To achieve their purpose, all previous partitions were removed, resulting in an open and bright space. The only rooms that remained with some privacy are delineated through bold geometric shapes.
A standout element is a circular design that invites a small office, providing a sense of fluidity and continuity. Open to the main space, the kitchen, with its Brick laminate fronts, round handles, and marble countertops, creates a warm, fresh, and sophisticated atmosphere. The kitchen's reddish hue is enhanced by the abundant natural light, which not only illuminates but also projects unique shapes that infuse the space with more character and style.
In short, the wise selection and application of materials can completely transform an environment. With light, shadow, and the chosen materials, the studio has managed to combine respect for traditional Levantine architecture with innovative ideas, creating a comfortable and renovated space.
