On the busy Fuencarral Street is this 206m2 apartment designed to be the meeting point for a family whose three children study in Madrid. The challenge was to create a space that combined functionality with light and color while respecting the historic construction of 1900. Through a comprehensive renovation, a cheerful space with a continuous color range has been created.

The renovation has created a luminous space, taking advantage of the interior windows to filter light from the façade, illuminating the living room and kitchen area, thus promoting a feeling of spaciousness and well-being. The entrance area is the axis that separates the living area from the sleeping area, and from it a long hallway leads to the five bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms.

The Agave and Sable laminate finishes combined with ROUND handles complemented the design of the space. Color plays a leading role in each room. It was carefully chosen to surprise and differentiate, establishing a common thread in the continuity of the material through the use of the same tile throughout the home, only varying its color or texture. The play of tones continues with the wooden floor in the living room and hydraulic tiles in the kitchen. Inspired by a retro aesthetic, this creates a space full of life and character.

The kitchen has a peninsula that invites gatherings and conviviality, perfect for entertaining guests or enjoying quick meals at the counter. The layout of the kitchen maintains an open and bright space, connecting all areas of the house. Attention is paid to the decorative elements of the space, using geometric shapes such as circles and stripes that appear frequently in different objects such as handles, wall lights, and lamps.

This project transforms the home into a place full of color, where each element creates a unique identity for the space, balancing a modern style with retro details.
