Upside Down, a meeting to explore the future of modular design

In September 2024, we hosted Upside Down, an exclusive event in Madrid where we explored the future of modular design. The event revolved around a thought-provoking question: "What would happen if you turned a house upside down?", which served as the focus for an active, participatory discussion. Guests shared their thoughts and perspectives on the flexibility, versatility, and potential of modular design.

The responses offered a rich and diverse perspective on the future of living spaces, highlighting the importance of integrated elements such as kitchens, closets, and bathrooms in today's architectural context. This reflection led to a discussion about how flexibility can transform spaces, adapting them to new needs and ways of living.

The event took place at Elisava's Acid House in Madrid, a former garage renovated by Arquitectura G. Its open-plan atmosphere and industrial aesthetic provided the ideal setting for exploring modularity and its impact on spaces.

During the event, we examined how modular elements—integrated kitchens, wardrobes, and bathrooms—can redefine interiors, offering solutions that adapt to changing lifestyles.

Upside Down was a meeting point and a place of reflection, where ideas flowed, driving a clear vision toward a future in which customization and flexibility will play a key role in living spaces.
