Wardrobes - LACQUER Roto
Urban harmony reflected in a Madrid classic
The apartment is located in the heart of the city, in a 1950s rationalist-style building, typical of that era in Madrid. Its privileged location offers wonderful views and sunsets over the city.
Natural materials were used, along with unique, custom-made pieces that make the space unique, creating an atmosphere of calm and tranquility reminiscent of the sea and summer sunsets. The project seeks to connect the interior with the exterior from every space, turning the terrace into a natural extension of the house, providing lighting.
The biggest challenge was to generate a functional and open space despite its elongated floor plan, whose terrace runs parallel throughout the entire space. The kitchen, without wall cabinets, allows light to flow throughout the space, receiving it from the outside and distributing it to the private and interior rooms. Through glass doors and walls of different textures, the large amount of outdoor light is directed towards the bedroom and bathroom areas. The contrast is conveyed through the intense blue of the large kitchen cabinet and the outdoor bar, which is the main color of the renovation.
Following the terrace and next to the main entrance, we find a multifunctional space, a study that also serves as a laundry room. The structure and functionality of the LACA Roto cabinet stands out, strategically designed to keep the laundry room hidden from view. This configuration generates the necessary calm in the work area. The space is combined with a color palette based on earth tones, which extends throughout the house. Ultimately, a space of calm and tranquility was created through an ingenious use of design.
