Easy and sustainable renovation

Maroussia, the owner of this 80 m2 studio in Paris, dreamed of transforming her home. The kitchen was the key space from which this efficient renovation was structured. No major demolitions or a large budget were necessary. Discover the small but powerful changes that transformed this apartment.

The before and after

The entrance to the house and the kitchen were separated into adjoining rooms. The first decision was to remove this partition. This way, the entrance retained ample space and the kitchen gained more space. Both were filled with light and cleared the general view from the living room.

The kitchen gained several pieces of furniture by designing a practical bench, and a comfortable and bright dining table was also added to the space.

Keep the inside, change the outside

The original kitchen was an IKEA FAKTUM, the official system prior to METOD. The kitchen's interior cabinets were in perfect condition and the layout was optimal, so we decided to keep it and only change the exterior. This solution reduced the budget but is also sustainable.

We'll give you the key details on how we optimized the budget for this renovation. In this case, the existing kitchen layout was optimal, so we decided to keep the interior structures that were in good condition.

1. We only changed the exterior of the kitchen
The interiors were in perfect condition and the layout was optimal.

2. We kept the appliances
Look closely. All the appliances are exactly the same.

3. The old floor also adapts
The gap left by the removed partition wall is filled with black cement to match the kitchen floor. The floors throughout the house are preserved.

4. Painting as a solution
The colorful walls have become white. This change is as powerful as it is economical.

The result

The final result was stunning. This project by Guilaine d'Harcourt's Parisian studio, featuring clean lines, a neutral color palette, and warm details, has been completely transformed.
