Trapiello and Cubas' challenge was simple: to transform a modest apartment, nestled in a 1930s building, into a domestic and hedonistic space. The original, closed-off, and compartmentalized dwelling has been completely reimagined, resulting in an open and fluid area with cross ventilation and a design that integrates the kitchen with the rest of the home.

  • The heart of "Casa Albero" is its vibrant Marble Green kitchen. Conceived as a txoko-style social space, it's a place designed for culinary and social enjoyment. A long countertop and a table, called "Pasarela," extend the length of the space, inviting gatherings of up to ten people. This ambiance encapsulates the essence of a traditional txoko, combining sociability with gastronomic pleasure.

The design of "Casa Albero" is a feat of balance and subtlety. Despite the creative freedom, Trapiello and Cubas have avoided turning the space into an excessive laboratory for experimentation. Instead, they have created a comfortable and balanced apartment that, behind its simplicity, harbors a rich and personal history. The color palette plays a crucial role, with white tones on the walls and ceilings, and colors that evoke the landscapes of Extremadura, especially in the choice of vibrant Marble Green for the kitchen.
