With the idea of building a two-story house in the mountains, a couple dreamed of a space that would allow them to enjoy the peace of the natural surroundings during their weekends. They wanted a home that combined rest and work, while always maintaining a close connection with nature.
The design challenge focused on integrating work and kitchen spaces, which was solved with an open kitchen that also functioned as a structural element to compartmentalize the spaces. The IKEA furniture for the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom was customized with CUBRO panels made of natural materials, seeking to create a serene and warm atmosphere.
The kitchen and bedroom furniture was designed from IKEA METOD modules, and Godmorgon structures were used for the bathroom. Two Pax cabinets were also incorporated into the bathroom to increase storage space.
The choice of WOOD oak finishes and ROUND handles, as well as a natural stone countertop, contributed to creating a feeling of comfort and connection with nature. The oak, treated with natural oils and waxes, provides a soft touch and a warm finish that enhances the aesthetics of the space.
The couple has achieved their goal: a house in the mountains that combines functionality and relaxation, while maintaining a close relationship with the natural environment. The renovation has allowed them to blend their lifestyle with the mountain landscape, creating a refuge that invites them to enjoy their free time in complete harmony with nature.
