Kitchens - LAMINATE Metal
SO House: flexible and geometric structure
In a quiet residential area of Madrid, Casa SO embodies a clear vision: to design a home capable of opening and closing according to the needs of each moment.
From its conception, the project establishes a resounding order. The floor plan is organized around three parallel strips that define the layout. Each strip, delimited by equipped walls that function as storage, simultaneously separates and connects. Strategically perforated, these walls create a sequence of framed views that reinforce visual continuity and spaciousness.
But geometry is not at odds with sensitivity. On the contrary: this structured layout allows the extremes of the floor plan to be freed, opening it completely to the exterior. Thus, natural light flows unhindered, and the relationship with the surroundings becomes direct and tangible. The service spaces are concentrated in the center of the project, allowing everything happening around them to breathe.
In terms of atmosphere, the materiality is sober yet expressive. Exposed brick serves as a common thread and visual narrative. As a sculptural gesture, a stainless steel staircase presides over the entrance hall and acts as a visual anchor between levels. This same logic of contrasts and presence is carried over to the kitchen, where the Metal LAMINATE is a powerful fixture. Far from being a technical or secondary space, the kitchen is integrated as an essential part of the design, visually and materially connected to the rest of the home.
Casa SO doesn't seek to dazzle with grandiloquent gestures. Its strength lies in the clarity of its ideas. Open, organized, and versatile, this house demonstrates that simplicity, when well thought out, is a form of sophistication.
