This project began with an 86-square-meter apartment located in the Gràcia neighborhood of Barcelona. Although it was a recent construction, the owners felt that the space didn't meet their actual needs or suit their lifestyle. The finishes were impersonal, and the layout didn't make the most of the available space. The objective was clear: to transform the apartment into a more functional, warm, and cohesive home with its own unique identity.

  • The renovation focused on reorganizing the daytime living space to improve circulation and create a greater sense of spaciousness. Elements that interrupted visual continuity were removed, and key areas were adjusted to facilitate daily use. Thanks to these changes, the home gained natural light and a more fluid connection was created between the different areas. In the nighttime area, some partitions were modified to improve the privacy of the bedrooms and make better use of the available space, without altering the original structure.

One of the key elements of the project was the complete renovation of the kitchen. In addition to improving its aesthetics and functionality, it became the new central hub connecting the different spaces of the home. At the heart of the design was a semicircular bar at two different heights, serving as a work area, auxiliary desk, and social space. This piece introduced a curved geometry that is reflected throughout the project, providing visual continuity and a recognizable identity to the whole.

The color scheme combined primary tones—with yellow and blue as the main colors—along with accents of green, orange, and red, always within a carefully considered compositional framework. As for the finishes, Celeste Lacquer and Sable Laminate were used in the kitchen, combining freshness and warmth with a durable and easy-to-maintain finish. In the bathrooms, the same Celeste Lacquer was applied alongside Pale Laminate, providing uniformity to the overall design without sacrificing visual lightness.

Every decision was made with the daily lives of the residents in mind, resulting in practical and well-integrated solutions that make the home function coherently and comfortably. The result is an apartment that reflects the family's real needs, improves their quality of life, and offers them a unique and distinctive environment.
