Kitchens - LACQUER Marga, WOOD Oak
Original elements in a renovated and functional design
This apartment, located in the center of Madrid, is part of a 1917 Modernist building designed by the same architect as the Mercado de San Miguel. The renovation aimed to recover the original essence of the home and optimize its layout. As it is a narrow, elongated space, it was essential to maximize the entry of light and improve the connection between the different rooms.
To achieve this, original elements—such as the floors—were restored and combined with timeless materials that provide a balance between history and functionality. The kitchen occupies a prominent place in the home: its open design connects directly with the living room, but the separation through arches marks a subtle transition between the spaces.
The Marga LACQUER finish, in harmony with the kitchen tiles, creates continuity with the refurbished floor and reinforces the character of the space.
Each piece of furniture was selected to add the desired character. In this way, the presence of an antique desk coexists with contemporary furniture, creating a balance between the new and the existing.
