This apartment, located in the heart of Madrid, is part of a 1917 modernist building designed by the same architect as the San Miguel Market. The renovation aimed to recapture the apartment's original character and optimize its layout. Given its narrow, elongated shape, maximizing natural light and improving the flow between the different rooms were key.

  • To achieve this, original elements—such as the floors—were restored and combined with timeless materials that create a balance between history and functionality. The kitchen occupies a prominent place in the home: its open design connects directly to the living room, but the separation through arches marks a subtle transition between the spaces.

The Marga lacquer finish, in harmony with the kitchen tile, creates continuity with the restored floor and reinforces the character of the space.

Each piece of furniture was selected to contribute to the desired character. In this way, the presence of an antique desk coexists with contemporary furniture, creating a balance between the new and the existing.
