Kitchens - WOOD Walnut, LAMINATE Sable
Walnut tones and autumn air in Marseille
This apartment in Marseille had a clear goal: to create a space that could be their full-time home, but also accommodate future shorter stays, visits from family and friends, or even rentals if a professional opportunity arose outside of France.
To meet these needs, the design had to be versatile without losing coherence. The key decision was to develop a central wooden axis connecting the entrance to the kitchen: a custom-made library that not only organizes the space but also incorporates a system of stained wood sliding doors. Thus, the apartment can be completely opened up or divided into two separate bedrooms depending on the occasion.
This solution allows you to alternate between an open floor plan, ideal for everyday use, and a more private and functional layout when the situation requires it.
In the kitchen, the chosen materials reinforce this idea of flexible timelessness. The combination of Walnut WOOD and Sable LAMINATE creates a warm and sophisticated atmosphere, with subtle references to 1950s interiors. The walnut's texture adds depth and naturalness, while the sand tone lightens the whole and connects it with the rest of the furnishings.
The result is a kitchen that elegantly integrates into the overall space without losing its unique identity, and that adapts to changes in use without the need for radical transformations.
Beyond the materials and layout, what defines this project is the clarity with which it responds to a specific way of living: a flexible space, ready to be transformed. The library, the kitchen, the sliding walls—everything shares that same logic: living well, without closing the door to change.
